TAKING A TAXI/ TOMANDO UN TAXI

In most Latin American cities, taxis are usually inexpensive and easily available. In many cities you need to fix a price before traveling; therefore, you may be involved in some bargaining with the driver. In some other cities, such as Buenos Aires, have metered taxis. Remember to ensure that the meter is set at the minimum tariff when the driver turns it on.

  1. Are you available? / ¿Está libre?
  2. How much is it to go to…?/ ¿Cuánto cuesta ir a…?
  3. Does that include luggage?/ ¿Incluye el equipaje?
  4. It's too much./ Es demasiado.
  5. Can you take 3 people?/ ¿Puede llevar 3 personas?
  6. Do you have change?/ ¿Tiene cambio?
  7. Please take me to this address./ Por favor, lléveme a esta dirección.
  8. The airport./ Al aeropuerto.
  9. Downtown./ Al centro.
  10. Please slow down./ Por favor, maneje más despacio.
  11. Please hurry./ Por favor, apúrese.
  12. Here is fine./ Aquí está bien.
  13. Stop here./ Pare aquí.
  14. Please wait here./ Por favor, espere aquí.
  15. How much do I owe you?/ ¿Cuánto es? o ¿Cuánto le debo?
  16. Have a nice trip!/ ¡Qué tenga un buen viaje!
